Ask about cello CThe flaw: Open / sloppily re-glued top-to-rib seams
The top-to-rib seam is open and/or sloppily re-glued along long runs of both lower bouts and both C-bouts: bare wood and old glue are visible right along the purfling line. This is a luthier seam re-glue, not cosmetic chipping. There is also a repaired crack in the top on the upper bass side; it reads flat to the fingertip. Seam re-gluing is routine, well-understood cello work (the most common repair there is on an instrument this age), but it is real bench time and you should price it in before you buy.
