The flaw: Bare-wood repair area on the lower bass side

There is a large bare-wood repair area on the lower bass side of the top, where the edge and varnish are gone down to raw spruce over several inches. It is very visible. It is also structurally sound: the top is seated on the rib, there is no open seam and no crack through the plate. It is a cosmetic hit, not a playing one, and it is why this one is priced under a clean example.

What's good

Set up and strung: bridge is fitted and standing, strings are good, four fine tuners. Scroll and pegbox are clean. The back is excellent with no cracks. Ribs are sound.
