Bulk testing, imaging & golden images — at bench scale.

The automated bench that tests and images my own refurb inventory is available as a service. Hand me a pallet of machines; get back tested, wiped, imaged units — Windows or Linux — with a per-serial report for every one. Built for resellers, schools, offices mid-refresh, and IT shops without a deployment bench of their own.

01 / What the bench does
01.1

Bulk hardware testing & grading

Every unit gets the same intake my own stock gets: boot/POST verification, a full SMART sweep on storage, memory test, battery health on laptops, ports and display checked, burn-in on request. Out the other side: a per-serial condition report (CSV or PDF) with pass/fail and a grade — so you know what you actually have before you sell it, deploy it, or scrap it.

01.2

Bulk imaging & provisioning

Network-boot deployment, not a USB stick walked machine to machine. Windows 10/11 — debloated, fully patched, drivers in, ready for first-boot or domain join — or any major Linux distro. Firmware config comes with it on Dell fleets: asset tags, boot order, Secure Boot, Wake-on-LAN set from the command line, consistently, on every box.

01.3

Golden image generation

A reference image built to your spec — base OS (Windows or Linux), your applications preloaded, settings and policy baseline applied, updates slipstreamed, unattended-install answer files included. Delivered as a deployable image plus the automation and documentation to apply it, so your team can re-deploy without calling me back.

01.4

Data sanitization

NIST 800-88 aligned wipes — clear or purge, whatever the media supports — verified, with a serial-matched wipe report for every drive. Drives that fail verification get flagged and pulled; physical destruction or return-to-you, your call. Pairs with testing or imaging, or runs as its own job.

02 / How a job runs
01

Scope it

Tell me the lot size, hardware mix, and what "done" looks like — tested, wiped, imaged, or all three. You get a per-unit number, not a sales call.

02

Hand it off

Drop off at the Huntington Valley shop, or I pick up locally in the Philadelphia area. Freight works for bigger lots.

03

Bench run

The automated pipeline does the work — diagnostics, wipes, network-boot imaging, firmware config — logging every step against each serial.

04

Reports back

Units returned with the per-serial report. Golden-image jobs also ship the image artifact, answer files, and docs.

03 / The bench behind it

Built for my own inventory first

This isn't a service invented for a brochure. The pipeline — PXE network deployment, IP-KVM control of headless machines, scripted BIOS configuration, automated SMART sweeps — exists because I run pallets of surplus machines through it for the shop. You get the same per-serial logs I trust when I put a machine up for sale under my own name.

Straight pricing

Volume-priced per unit: most testing, wipe, and imaging work lands in the $10–30/unit range depending on depth and lot size. Golden images are flat-bid per image. If a lot isn't worth running, I'll say so at scoping — same "honest no" the repair bench gives.
