Repair bench · Philadelphia area

Repair bench: vintage hi-fi & electronics.

The same bench that tests the surplus inventory takes in repair work — the kind that brings a dead turntable or a no-boot laptop back instead of landfilling it. Diagnosis first, a written quote before anything gets opened up, and an honest "not worth it" when that's the real answer.

01 / What I service

Vintage hi-fi & audio

Turntables, cassette decks, reel-to-reel, receivers, integrated amps and tuners. Cleaning and lubrication, belt and idler replacement, re-capping where needed, alignment, and channel / noise testing so both sides actually play.

Electronics & computer repair

Laptops, desktops and consumer electronics: no-boot diagnosis, board-level repair where it's economical, storage and data recovery, thermal and power fixes, and clean OS rebuilds. If it's a common surplus model, I've probably already got the parts.

02 / How it works
01

Describe it

Tell me the make, model and symptom. Photos help. Ship it in or drop it off locally.

02

Diagnose & quote

I find the actual fault and send a written quote — parts, labor, and whether it's worth doing.

03

Repair & test

On your go-ahead, the fix happens on the bench and gets tested like any unit I'd sell.

04

Return

Packed properly — foam and double-boxed for anything fragile or heavy — and shipped back insured.
