Description
Eight USA-made Stanley try squares out of one school woodshop. Honest working layout tools, priced as a set.
Bench report
- Functional
- All eight are complete and usable. Every blade is firmly seated in its handle with no wobble or play, and the graduations are legible on all eight. Two blade markings appear across the group: the older "No.12TS 6 INCH" stamp and the later "46-520 U.S.A.". See the close-up photos. Not checked on a precision square or granite plate. I do not have the metrology to certify one, so I am not claiming it. Judge trueness from the photos and buy accordingly. Happy to clean and oil the whole set before it ships at no extra cost. Just say so after you buy.
- Cosmetic
- Typical shop-class wear, and plenty of it. The cast handles are chipped and scuffed in yellow, red and black, several worn through to bare metal. Blades carry surface tarnish, oxidation spotting, light pitting and old layout scratches. One blade still wears its original Stanley factory barcode label.
- Tested
- Counted and photographed. 8 squares, all Stanley, all 6 in · Blade seated tight in every handle, no play · Graduations legible on all eight blades · Visually inspected for bends, cracks and missing rivets. None found · NOT gauged for squareness. See the description
