Description

The traditional pattern. A stainless blade made in England riveted into a brass-faced hardwood stock.

Bench report

Functional
Complete and usable. The blade is firmly riveted into the stock with no play, and the graduations are legible the full length of the blade. Blade is marked "STANLEY", "46-209", "Stainless" and "Blade Made In England". Not checked on a precision square or granite plate. I do not have the metrology to certify one, so I am not claiming it. Judge trueness from the photos and buy accordingly.
Cosmetic
Light use and it shows well. The blonde hardwood stock is sound and faced in brass, with brass rivets and the inlaid brass triangle intact. The stainless blade has scattered handling marks, faint mottling across the face and a small paint fleck near one edge. No cracks, no splits, no looseness in the stock.
Tested
Blade tight in the stock. No play or rattle · Graduations legible the full 8 in · Hardwood stock sound. No cracks, splits or loose rivets · Brass face and inlay present and intact · NOT gauged for squareness. See the description
